LCDR (retired) Perry R. Chambers, passed away peacefully in his sleep on March 27, 2014 at the age of 80. Perry was born February 15, 1934 to Lee and Inez Chambers in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Shortly after his birth, he and his family moved to Virginia Beach, Virginia where he graduated from Oceana High School. After a 23 year career as a decorated naval aviator, serving in both the Vietnam War and during peace time, Perry pursued his passion as a mechanical engineer at Aetna Insulated Wire Company. In 1984 Perry returned to Pensacola, an area he fell in love with while attending flight school, with his wife, Pensacola native, Sherry Alyn Richardson. Perry is survived by his loving family, Scott Chambers, Tim, Michael, and Kevin Hogan (sons); Alicia Chambers, Sherry Ann MacDonald and Jan Foretich (daughters) and 11 grandchildren, Ashley, Hannah, Colter, Nick, Devon, Chase, Ben, Katie, Julianna, Rachael, and Rebecca.
