Leon Milton "Pete" Burright, passed away on Tuesday, May 28, 2024, at his home in Pace, FL where he spent the last 6 years of his life.
Pete is preceded in death by his loving wife, Tempe Katherine Burright. They were married in 1956 and remained married for 63 years until Tempe's death in 2019.
Pete was born in Wichita, KS on June 4, 1935, where he spent his childhood and early adult years. He graduated Summa Cum Laude from Wichita State University in 1957. After graduation he moved to Berkeley, CA to pursue an advanced degree in Chemistry and afterwards went to work as a Chemist for Shell Chemical Company in 1959 where he worked until he retired in 1995 after 36 years of service.
Pete was well known to all as a skilled and prolific woodworker. His love for woodworking grew from time spent with his father in the shop as a young boy. He made many wonderful and unique items that he shared through the years which are greatly treasured by all his family and friends. The care with which he designed and made all his woodworking projects truly expressed his love and affection for everyone.
Pete was greatly loved and admired by many friends and family. He is survived by his two sons, Paul (Mary) & Scott (Katherine) Burright and his two grandsons, Christopher and Andrew. He will be dearly missed by all his friends and family.
