Dr. Phil Barnhart 73, of Pensacola passed away Tuesday, April 19, 2011. Dr. Barnhart was born in Moundsville, WV on July 7, 1937. He graduated from Marshall University, received his Masters of Divinity from Emory University Candler School of Theology, and his Doctorate of Ministry from Asbury Theological Seminary in Wilmore, KY. Dr. Phil served as a pastor for 45 years and continued to serve the Lord in his retirement as an interim minister at churches in the Pensacola, FL area. He is survived by his wife, Sharon; their children, Denise, Lisa, Mark, Kenneth and Kara; eight grandchildren; one great grandchild and brother, Bill. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10:00am Saturday, April 23, 2011 at Perdido Bay United Methodist Church, with Dr. Darren M. McClellan officiating. A reception will follow the service. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Perdido Bay United Methodist Church (Childrens Playground Fund), 13660 Innerarity Point Road, Pensacola, FL 32507.
