Philip Duryea, 80, of Pensacola, FL, passed away on Friday, October 15, 2021.
Philip was born on April 14, 1941 in Auburn, NY. He was a sales representative for Barden Homes in Homer New York. Philip was an avid collector of antique toys and military memorabilia throughout his entire life. After early retirement and while traveling, he and his late wife discovered Pensacola and became winter residents. He soon discovered the National Naval Aviation Museum and became a tour guide. During his twenty two years as a volunteer, he was a Narrator on the Flight Line during Blue Angels practices, Tour Guide Division Head and also served as the Volunteer Coordinator for all volunteers along with his wife Maureen, for eight and a half of those twenty two years.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Wendell and Martha Duryea; wife, June Duryea and step grandchild, Michael DiPaola.
Philip is survived by his wife of twenty years, Maureen Duryea; brother, Dennis Duryea (Ailene) of Durham, NC; son, Chris Duryea (Mary) of Voorhessville, NY; daughter, Wendy Hall (Reggie Studier) of Guyton, GA; step daughter, Patricia Anderson (Mark Sanders) of Severna Park, MD and Christine Wicker Wicker (Todd) of Arnold, MD; three grandchildren, six step grandchildren and one step great grandson.
A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of your choice in Phil's honor.
Special thanks to all of the doctors, nurses and staff at Sacred Heart Hospital and special thanks to Intensive Care Nurse, Michael Day for his care, concern and comforting words.
