Obituary

Philip Joseph Sanchez III, age 68, a Pensacola native and Monroeville resident for the past 22 years, passed away on Saturday, September 30, 2000 at his home.

Mr. Sanchez graduated from Pensacola Catholic High School and had attended Gulf Coast Military Academy and Florida State University. His studies and a football scholarship at Florida State were interrupted by his proud and distinctive service in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. Following his honorable discharge, he resumed his education.

Subsequent to a 20 year career of selling insurance in Pensacola, Mr. Sanchez moved his family to Monroeville and began working with the U.S. Postal Service. After 17 years of service as a postal worker, Mr. Sanchez retired to spend time with his family.

Mr. Sanchez is lovingly survived by his wife, Mrs. Danice Chavis Sanchez; seven children, Philip Joseph Sanchez IV, of Monroeville, Kenneth William Sanchez, of Germany, Philis Danice Payne, of Niceville, James Daniel Sanchez, of Orlando, Richard Quina Sanchez, of Pensacola, Patricia Daune Raymond, of Frisco City, Robert O'Donovan, of Newnan, GA; thirteen grandchildren; six sisters and many friends. He is preceded in death by a sister.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, October 4, 2000, at the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.

Visitation will be Tuesday, October 3, 2000 from 5:00pm until 7:00pm at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel.

Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
