Obituary

Phyllis Hennessey Fleming, widow of William T. Fleming, died Monday, January 14, 2019.

Born in 1925 to Col. Peter and Blanche Hennessey, she grew up in San Antonio, TX. She attended the University of Texas where she was a member of Pi Beta Phi Sorority. She moved to Pensacola in 1945 as a young bride and enjoyed 62 years of marriage to her dear husband, Bill. She was actively involved in Christ Church, the Junior League, and a number of volunteer and social organizations.

Phyllis was a devoted and loving wife and mother, dedicating her life to caring for her husband and two children. She is survived by son, William T. Fleming, Jr. of Los Angeles, CA; daughter, Thayer Fleming of Saluda, NC; grandchildren, Will Fleming (Angie), Maggie Fleming (Damien), John Grumbine (Megan), and Peter Grumbine (Shannon); as well as five great- grandchildren, Vida, James, Andrew, Lillian, and Zoe.

In addition to her parents, Phyllis was preceded in death by her sisters, Kathleen Dany and Peggy Vincent and by her brother, Peter Hennessey. She has numerous nieces and nephews who were very special to her.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held 11:00am Monday, January 28, 2019 at Christ Episcopal Church, with a reception following the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Christ Episcopal Church, 18 W. Wright St., Pensacola, FL 32501 or to a charity of one's choice.

The family wishes to thank her many friends, attentive caregivers, and the staff of Azalea Trace for their support and loving attention.
