Phyllis Colleen Seibert, 88, of Pensacola, FL, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 10, 2026, surrounded by her loving family and friends.
Phyllis was born July 11, 1937, in Oklahoma City, OK, and was raised on a large rural farm.
She attended Jefferson High School, graduating with the class of 1955. Growing up on the farm, she developed a deep love of horses and enjoyed competing in barrel racing at local rodeos.
After high school, Phyllis attended business college and began a career in business administration. In 1959, she married Jerry Lynn Hodges, and the couple moved east to Maryland. Together they had three children: Michael, Kathryn, and Julia.
After her divorce, she married William “Bill” Seibert in 1975. Phyllis later worked for many years with the Prince George’s County Public School System. She was an avid reader and took great pleasure in dancing, music and traveling.
Upon retirement, Phyllis enjoyed an active life in The Villages, Florida, before relocating to Pensacola in her later years. Phyllis had a friendly, outgoing personality and easily made many friends wherever her travels took her. Her smile, laughter, compassion, humor and kindness will be missed by all who knew her.
Phyllis is survived by her children, Michael Hodges, Grace Torres Hodges daughter-in-law, Kathryn Nicholson, Philip Nicholson, son-in-law, Julia Armstrong, Christopher Armstrong, son-in-law; and her beloved grandchildren, Timothy Hodges, Caitlyn Hodges, Kelsey Armstrong and Jessica Armstrong.
A visitation will begin at 10:00am Friday, April 17, 2026, followed by a Memorial Mass at 11:00am at St. Paul Catholic Church. A “Celebration of Life” will be scheduled later in Maryland.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that condolences, cherished memories, and old photographs be sent to the family at PhyllisMemorial37@gmail.com.
