Nanna G. (Poussinette) Zamperetti Shane Champlin passed away from natural causes on Monday, August 16, 2021 at Baptist Hospital. She was 89.

Poussinette was born in Milano, Italy January 13, 1932 to an Italian father and Norwegian mother. She survived WWII in Italy as a young teen, was educated in Italy and France and subsequently served as an interpreter and translator in multiple languages in various countries in Europe. Following her marriage to Commander E.B. (Mike) Shane, she came to the United States and became a citizen of this country. After CDR Shane's death in 1973, she chose to remain in her adopted Pensacola home and married Wm. G. (Bill) Champlin in 1987.

She is survived by her children, Michael Shane (Nicoletta) of Coimo, Italy and Peter Shane of Jacksonville, FL, and her extended family of Gene Halpern (Allan) of St. Petersburg Beach, FL, E.B. (Chip) Shane (Diana) of Orlando, FL, Gardiner Champlin (Jennifer) of Ramona, CA, Brooks Champlin (Katherine) of Pensacola, FL and Ryan Champlin (Beth) of Colleyville, TX. She is also deeply loved by eleven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. In addition to her family, Poussinette's great passion for her many friends in this country, Norway and in her native Italy was a most important part of her life.

A Funeral Mass will be held at the Basilica of St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, 19 N Palafox St, Pensacola, FL 32502 on Friday, August 20, 2021 at 10:00 AM with the Very Reverend Joseph P. Callipare, Celebrant.
