Preston Lewis Baswell, Jr., 90, of Pensacola, FL has gone to rest with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Wednesday, February 28, 2024.

Preston was born on May 16, 1933, in Coronado, CA to Preston L. Baswell, Sr. and Ruby Whitwell Baswell. He graduated from PHS, Class of 1950, and Florida State University, Class of 1954. After serving a reserve enlistment in the Navy, he married Muriel Fulford of Pensacola. He entered real estate in 1956 and was active until 1999. He and Muriel raised their two sons, Wayne and Lewis, and enjoyed life with their three grandchildren, Christen Baswell, Carol Ann Hangartner, and Paul Baswell.

Preston achieved the honors of President, Vice President, and Realtor of the Year from the Pensacola Association of Realtors. Associations and club memberships included Subwest Rotary Club Paul Harris Award, Baptist Hospital Board of Directors, Downtown Toastmasters President, Salvation Army Advisory Board Chairman, and District Chairman of the Boy Scouts. He was a Baptist deacon and served on the mission board of the Florida Baptist Association. As a member of the Pensacola Chamber of Commerce and the "Gofer" (We Gofer Pensacola) Club, he affiliated himself with the community. His hobbies he enjoyed were golf, hunting, and tennis.

He is preceded in death by his siblings, Edward A. Baswell and Beverly Joyce Norwood.

Survivors include his loving wife, Muriel; sons, Wayne Baswell (Beth) and Lewis Baswell (Sharon); grandchildren, Christen, Carol Ann (Alan), and Paul; as well as two great-granddaughters, Sophie and Olivia Hangartner.

Funeral Service will be held 9:30am Thursday, March 7, 2024, at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel, with Pastor Butch Callahan officiating. Interment will follow at Barrancas National Cemetery.
