Raleigh Scott Fetner, Jr. ,71, of Pensacola, FL passed away peacefully and surrounded by family on Thursday, June 8, 2023.

Scott was born on February 29, 1952, to Scott and Joann Fetner in Detroit, MI. He graduated from Purdue University and joined the Navy in 1974. He flew as a Navigator and Electronics operator in EF-4 and EA-4 type aircraft. In 1978 he moved to Pensacola, FL and completed his time with the Navy as a Senior Seamanship Instructor. While in Pensacola he met his wife, Carolyn. Together they had two children, Elizabeth Ann and Barbara Scott. He had a love for doing anything on the water which included boating, sailing, cruising, and body surfing the waves with his grandchildren at the Gulf Mimi. He was passionate about spending time with his family and friends and was always there to help others in times of need. There wasn't anything Scott couldn't fix, a boat he couldn't dock, or a person he couldn't make laugh.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Scott and Joann and his sister, Sue.

Scott is survived by his wife Carolyn; daughters, Elizabeth Ann (Trevor) and Barbara Scott (Parker); grandsons, Cordson and Charles; loyal dog, Ruby; sisters, Peggy (Brian) and Martha; and many loving family members.

Scott's celebration of life will be held 11:00am Tuesday, June 13, 2023, at St. Christopher's Episcopal Church, with Rev. Susan Sowers officiating.

His family would like to thank the team members at the Kugelman Cancer Center at Baptist Hospital.

Memorial donations may be made in Scott's name to St. Christopher's Episcopal Church and Covenant Hospice.
