Obituary

Ralph Fuller, age 90, passed away Sunday morning, May 29, 2016 following a lengthy illness. It was the end of a life well lived. He was a devoted husband, loving father, grandfather & great-grandfather, as well as a loyal friend to many. Ralph was born in Oswego, NY & spent most of his childhood there. He joined the US Navy as a teenager during the WWII years; he later attended Yale & Rochester Institute of Technology where he completed the engineering curriculum. As a young mechanical engineer he was later transferred to Pensacola to begin work in the Machinery & Bag Division at St. Regis. Shortly following his arrival in Pensacola, he met & later married Beth Erickson, a native of Pensacola. Together they raised 2 sons, Rick & Jamie.

Ralph embraced life. He enjoyed hunting & fishing with his boys, and was one of the founders of the Pensacola Big Game Fishing Club. He was always an active participant in his son's lives and the lives of his grandchildren. He was always generous with his time & talents. He loved anything social & was always willing to try something new. He enjoyed good friends, good food, & good scotch. He had a life-long love of learning & writing. He would usually write poems to remember special occasions. He was a dream grandfather to 2 granddaughters, Heather & Sarah. He loved his dogs; his favorite was a black lab named Magic, who was his constant companion for 14 years. He was loyal & dependable, always willing to help family & friends. He & Beth led a full & active life together for 65 years. He will be greatly missed.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph Sr. & Mary Agnes (Grant) Fuller; 1 sister, Grace Fuller Mazur; a sister-in-law, Janie Johnson; brother-in-law Thomas (Butch) Erickson; & a granddaughter, Elizabeth Anne Fuller.

He leaves behind a legacy of love in his wife Beth; 2 sons, Rick & Jamie; their wives, Jan & Wendy; 2 granddaughters, Heather Martin (Johnny) & Sarah Fuller; a step-grandson, Charles (Bunky) Payne; 2 great-grandchildren, Adam & Anna Martin; a nephew Jack Mazur; nieces & nephews, and countless friends.

Visitation will be held on 5:00pm until a Memorial Service to begin at 6:00pm Wednesday, June 1, 2016 at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul's Catholic Church.
