Obituary

Ralph Myron Roberts Jr., a loving husband, devoted father, and cherished grandfather, passed away on February 20, 2025, in Pensacola, FL, at the age of 82. He was born on August 30, 1942, in Tuscaloosa, AL, and spent his life teaching and sharing his wisdom, always with a kind heart and a generous spirit.

Ralph attended services at Holy Cross Episcopal Church and was an esteemed retired Professor of Management at the University of West Florida, where he taught for over 30 years. His passion for education and commitment to his students made a lasting impact on countless lives. Outside the classroom, Ralph was an avid reader, a skilled woodworker, and a model airplane enthusiast who found joy in creating and building. As a young man, Ralph was very active, boasting of his ability to waterski backward, competing in numerous running events, and racing dirt bikes through the backwoods of Escambia County.

He was deeply committed to serving his community, offering his expertise as an arbitrator for Florida's Lemon Law and volunteering with AARP to assist seniors with their income tax returns. Ralph's big heart and selfless nature made him a trusted friend and mentor to many. He was always ready to lend a helping hand, whether to a loved one or a stranger in need.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Gail Frances Roberts Bolin of Richmond, VA.

Ralph is survived by his loving wife, Sally Stone Roberts of Pensacola; daughters Frances Lee Roberts Revere of Gainesville, FL, Suzanne Miller Daly of Bisbee, AZ, and Kathleen Elizabeth Miller of Pensacola; and five grandchildren, Jacob Paul Revere of Houston, TX, Luke Michael Revere of Denver, CO, Patricia Ann Revere of Fort Worth, TX, Isabell Lee Revere of Gainesville, FL, and Tristan William Miller of Pensacola, FL. He is also survived by his sister, Margaret Bess Roberts (Cleve) Estis.

A Memorial Service to honor Ralph's life will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, March 7, 2025, at Holy Cross Episcopal Church, Father Rob Dixon will officiate the service, followed by burial at the Holy Cross Columbarium.

Ralph's warm heart, generosity, and love for his family and community will forever be remembered. He will be deeply missed, but his spirit of kindness and dedication to others will live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Wilmer Hall Children's Home in Mobile, AL, in Ralph's memory.
