Obituary

Raymond Carl Beach, 78, of Pensacola, FL passed away Sunday, September 6, 2020.

Mr. Beach was born in Detroit, MI on October 21, 1941 to Dorothy (Kemp) and Raymond Beach. He was raised in Kentucky where he attended schools and graduated from Mayfield High School in Mayfield, KY. In his early 20's he was a brilliant Chemist at US Steel in Gary, IN, until 1964, when he joined the Navy Reserves and discovered his true calling, being accepted to AOCS in 1965. He served his country in the US Navy retiring at the rank of Lieutenant Commander. He served many tours to Vietnam and was decorated with many medals including, Distinguished Flying Cross, Air Medals (5 for single missions and 24 strike flights), Navy Commendation (5 awards 4 with "W"). Vietnam Service with 2 Bronze Stars as well as many more. After his military career, Mr. Beach received his Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of West Florida in Pensacola, FL. After his military career, Ray worked for Computer Science Corporation which took him from Pensacola, FL to Monterrey, CA and ending up in Washington DC for his second retirement in 2003. Returning and finally settling back in Pensacola. He was a member of the Lions Club of Gulf Breeze, and he was always the voice of reason.

Preceded in death by his mother, Mr. Beach is survived by his, wife, Ann L. Beach; daughter, Sharon Beach Massey (George); son, Brian Allen Beach; father, Raymond Beach; sister, Janice Beach Everett (Rick) of Dresden, TN; brothers, David Beach (Suzanne) of Destin, FL, Richard Beach of Dresden, TN; and James Beach (Linda) of Roseville, CA.

The family will receive friends from 12noon until the Funeral Service at 1:00pm Friday, September 25, 2020 at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel, with Rev. Ken Griffin officiating. Burial will follow at Barrancas National Cemetery with full military honors.
