R.E. "Doc" Mauch, 97, of Pensacola, FL passed away on Thursday, October 18, 2018.

His higher education was interrupted by WWII in which Doc served his country honorably as a Naval aviator. After leaving the service he entered the insurance business as a salesman. When American Fidelity Life Insurance Company was formed in 1956 he was named Administrative Vice President and Secretary. In 1981, he became President. Doc was a life member of the Million Dollar Round Table, Past President of the Pensacola Association of Life Underwriters, recipient of the Bob Cain Memorial Award, past member of the Pensacola YMCA Metropolitan Board, and member of the Pensacola Yacht Club.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Ansbaugh Mauch and daughter, Nancy Christine Mauch.

He was loved by his family and friends and will be fondly remembered. Survivors include his two children, Jim Mauch (Kim) and Susan Phillips (Bob); six grandchildren, Alison McCorkindale, Rob McCorkindale, Jimmy Mauch, Jesse Mauch, Laura Phillips (Rich), and Robert Phillips, Jr.; also 6 great-grandchildren, Ryder, Delia, and Anders McCorkindale, Mary and Gregory Brown, and Mitchell Phipps; as well as his loving dog, Leah.

A Memorial Service will be held 11:00am Saturday, October 27, 2018 at First Presbyterian Church with Rev. Robert Quiring and Rev. Joan Wooten officiating.

The family would like to thank Doc's caregivers at TLC for the exceptional care they provided for him and his family.
