Rebecca Frances Owen, 80, of Pensacola, FL passed away on Thursday, April 11, 2024.

Rebecca was born on April 9, 1944, in Morristown, NJ. She attended 1 year of Northeastern Bible College in New Jersey and then 2 years at Clearwater Christian College in Clearwater, FL. Rebecca worked as a credit investigator in Shreveport, LA and Omaha, NE. She enjoyed cooking, long walks, exercising in the heated pool, game nights with family and friends, watching Gunsmoke, and going to long lunches with girlfriends. She will never be forgotten as an extremely loyal, committed, and loving wife. Rebecca fostered 4 children and adopted 2 daughters. She also spent 5 years doing ministry on her home built chapel boat.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Eric and Alice McLaughlin.

Survivors include her loving husband of 54 years, Robert Owen; daughters, Tonya Welch and Wendy Melvin; as well as 6 grandchildren, Megan Opava, Caleb Opava, Hannah Welch, Elizabeth Welch, Alyssa Johnson, and Felicity Smith.

A funeral service will be held 12:00 noon Wednesday, April 17, 2024, at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel, with Chaplain Ken Griffin officiating. Interment will follow at Barrancas National Cemetery.
