Richard "Dick" James Wedge, 68, was called home by his Heavenly Father on Saturday, November 21, 2009 after a 3 year 7 month battle with Pancreatic Cancer. Richard was born in Bristol, IN on November 2, 1941 to Byron and Marie Wedge. Dick served 2 tours in Vietnam in the US Army where he was a recipient of the Purple Heart, Bronze Star and Silver Star. He retired from the US Post Office in Fort Worth, TX after 27 years of service. Richard was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church Booster Club. He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Duke Wedge, Patrick Wedge and Terry Wedge. Survivors include his loving companion and care provider of over 38 years, Jerry L. Maynard; two sisters, Delores Ash (Bob) and Patsy Schwab (Bill); two brothers, Ronald Wedge and Johnnie Wedge; extended family include Sharon Maynard and Trisha Maynard; granddaughter, Addie Jo Meinking and close friend, Rosa Harmon and many nieces, nephews and friends as well as his 2 dogs, Taco and Mikey. Visitation will be held 9:30am-10:15am Friday, November 27, 2009 at St. Joseph Catholic Church with a Mass of Christian Burial to begin at 10:15am with Deacon Eugene Pallone and Fr. Pat Foley celebrants. Burial will follow at Barrancas National Cemetery with military honors. Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church in memory of Richard J.
