Richard Anthony Preston, 85, of Pensacola, FL passed away Saturday, August 19, 2023.

Richard was born on June 27, 1938, in Gulfport, MS. His family moved to Pensacola in 1939 and he graduated from Pensacola Catholic High School in 1956. Richard worked and ultimately retired from Monsanto after 35 years of service. He was an active and long-time parishioner of St. Mary Catholic Church, serving the parish for many years in various roles. Was active in antique auto restoration and the antique auto enthusiast community during the 1960's-70's.

He is preceded in death by his parents, John T. and Matilda Preston; brothers, John Preston, Russell Preston, Howard Preston, and Robert Preston; sisters, Dorothy Bloom, Mary Pilling, and Mildred Preston; his first wife, Anne Geeker Preston McNeal; second wife, Connie Grimes Preston.

Survivors include his loving wife, Cheryl Preston; daughter, Linda Preston Lethbridge (Mark) of Bumpass, VA; daughter, Kae Preston of Pensacola; sister, Janet Preston Feallock (Joe) of Pensacola; stepchildren, Tracy Grimes of Pensacola, Toni Grimes Harris of Pensacola, Paige Miller (Steve) of Houston, TX, Andy Doherty of Ft. Worth, TX, and Meredith Potyondy of Dallas, TX; grandchildren, Zach Lethbridge (Rosemary) of Fredericksburg, VA, Matthew Lethbridge (Blair) of Fredericksburg, VA, Jacob Lethbridge of Fredericksburg, VA, Crystal Richbourg of Pensacola; Amanda Dunn Spencer of Pensacola, Declan, Connor & Berlin Potyondy of Dallas, TX; great-grandchildren, Connor, Andrew, Madison & Christian Lethbridge of Fredericksburg, VA; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held 12:30pm until the Funeral Mass begins at 1:30pm Friday, August 25, 2023, at St. Mary Catholic Church, with Fr. Chris Winkeljohn and Fr. Eugene Pathe concelebrating. Interment will follow at Bayview Memorial Park.

Pallbearers will be Zach Lethbridge, Matt Lethbridge, Jake Lethbridge, Ronnie Preston, Wayne Preston, and David Preston.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Mark Lethbridge and Johnny Williamson.
