Rick Norman was born in Akron, Ohio to Gladys and Zan Norman on September 19, 1950. He passed away peacefully, with his wife by his side, on Wednesday, March 25, 2026.

He relocated with his parents to Pensacola as a young boy where he would complete his education.

At the age of 19, during the Vietnam war, he joined the US Army where he served as a helicopter pilot. During his service he was awarded several commendations including National Defense Service Medal; Vietnam Service Medal; Vietnam Campaign Medal; Air Medal; Army Commendation Medal; Bronze Star Medal; Army Aviation Badge; Expert Badge (Rifle); and the Purple Heart.

He was honorably discharged in June 1971 following a combat-related injury.

Following his discharge, he worked construction jobs until 1976 when he was hired by the US Postal Service. He would continue to work for the post office until June 2016. He retired with over 40 years of service.

Rick loved to spend time fishing, watching University of Alabama football, New Orleans Saints football, and Atlanta Braves baseball. He loved his family and will be missed by all those who knew and loved him. He was truly one-of-a-kind with a personality no one is likely to forget.

He is survived by his wife, Cinda; a brother, Mark; three sons, Nicholas, Dustin, and Jeremy; and two granddaughters, Alyssa and Indica.

A graveside service will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Tuesday April 7, 2026 at Barrancas National Cemetery, with Rev. Kenneth Griffin serving as officiant. Military Honors are being accorded by the US Army. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel at 9:45 A.M. on Tuesday to line up for procession to the cemetery, departing at 10:00 A.M.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital which was Rick's favorite charity.
