Obituary

Rickey Anthony DeHart, 71, of Pensacola, FL passed away Sunday, April 28, 2024.

Rick was born on August 3, 1952, in Morgan City, LA, he worked and adventured as a welder for many years. He met the love of his life at a horse area where he and his daughters rode. After several very long bike rides, some family blending, and a few adopted pets, they headed off to start a new life in Pensacola, where they walked the beaches and hunted sand dollars for 38 years. He spent his final years tending his kitties and ever-growing garden. Fishing, planting, and bike riding brought him joy, but what he loved most was building their dream – a life full of love, laughter, friends, and family. He had a special gift for connecting with people, and his kindness left lasting marks on all who met him. Rick delighted in being a smartass, always drawing smiles, fun, and more than few eye rolls. For someone who was never forceful a day in his life, he was a force of nature and is greatly missed by all.

Rick is preceded in death by his parents, Elton DeHart, Allen, and Rena Deslatte; and brother Patrick DeHart.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Rebecca DeHart; loving daughters, Brandy Tilo (Itielu), Bridget DeHart, Katherine Paredes DeHart (Adrian); fur sons, Harley, Gandalf, not-our-cat Morris; brother, Warren DeHart (Challie); sisters, Glenda Rice (David), Debbie Navarro (Ricky); grandchildren, Troy Trahan (Molly), Samantha Tilo, Hunter DeMarcay (Pierre), Rasela Tilo, Courtney Trahan; great grandsons, Brody DeMarcay, Asher Trahan; and many other beloved friends.

The family will have a Private Memorial Service at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Wildlife Sanctuary of Northwest Florida – www.pensacolawildlife.com

It's impossible to list all those who have lifted us up in light and dark times alike, of which there were many. We have been so blessed with love, support, and deep friendship throughout our lives. You know who you are, and we love you dearly. - Becca
