Rita Helen Humphreys Saunders, 90, native of Pensacola, FL passed away Tuesday, May 14, 2013. Rita was born on June 27, 1922 in Pensacola, FL and was a graduate from Pensacola High School. She married Charles N. Saunders on December 4, 1943 and in the middle 1940's, they moved to his home town of Fall Creek, WI. In 1961, they moved to Ladysmith, WI. In 1969, they returned to Pensacola and Rita worked for Renfroe Tire Company and then Stephen's Bee Line until her retirement. Rita was a member of Grace Lutheran Church and also belonged to DAR, DOC and the Pensacola Historical Society. Rita is preceded in death by her parents, Frank C. and Anita Humphreys; husband, Charles N. Saunders; sister, Edith Turner; brothers, Frank C., Jr., Arthur and Edward Humphreys and grandson, Charles Buck Saunders. She is survived by her sons, Frank H. and Charles N., Jr.; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; sisters, Catherine Gibson, Ruth Bailey and Mary Lenz; sister-in-law, Catherine Humphreys and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held 2-4pm Sunday, May 19, 2013 at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel. Funeral Service will be held 10:00am Monday, May 20, 2013 at Grace Lutheran Church with Pastor Stephen Linck officiating. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. The family would like to thank the ER and 5th floor personnel at Sacred Heart Hospital along with the Covenant Hospice personnel for making her last days as comfortable as possible.
