Rita Riffel, age 89, passed away on Wednesday, March 27, 2024, after a valiant 10-year battle with Dementia.

Rita was born on November 3, 1934, in Sumpter, SC to Thomas and Maria Jenkins. Rita spent several years at home raising her 5 children before venturing into PR, Insurance, and eventually finding her passion as a Broker/Realtor.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Edwin Riffel; parents, Thomas and Maria Jenkins; brother, Thomas Jenkins; sister, Carmen Nichols; as well as a grandson, Forrest Sibley.

She is survived by her 5 children, Lori (Ron) Lanier, Kurt (Mizuho) Schnupp, Suzi Fernandez, Eric Schnupp, and Amy (Brandon) Hartjen; sister, Dolores Jenkins; 7 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; as well as a host of nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held 5-7pm Tuesday, April 2, 2024, at The Sailing Center next to Pensacola Yacht Club.

A graveside service will be held 11:00am Wednesday, April 3, 2024, at Barrancas National Cemetery, with Msgr. Luke Hunt officiating. A funeral cortege will depart from Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel at 10:30am.
