Obituary

RMCM James William Neiswonger, US Navy (ret), 69, of Lillian, AL passed away Friday, December 24, 2010. Mr. Neiswonger was born on May 6, 1941 in Greenville, OH to Donald and Gwendolyn (Rehmert) Neiswonger. He served his country in the US Navy for 32 years reaching the Rank of RMCM (SS). Some of his duty station included, CMC, DCMS in Washington, DC; FTAT Comnavcomtel Com in Washington, DC; OSTU2 USNS Range Sentinel (T-AGM-22); USS Tullibee SSN-597. Among some of the significant award he received were (2) Navy Commendation Medals and (2) Navy Achievement Medals. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church. He is survived by his wife, Wanda Spain Neiswonger; four children, Greg, Wendy, Tina and Donald all residing in WI; one brother, Tom Neiswonger who resides in Oregon; three sisters, Donna Kay Wright of Greenville, OH Jennifer Wagle of Weatherford, TX and Mary Welsh of Lawton, OK. A Visitation will be held from 10:00am until the Funeral Service at 11:00am Wednesday, December 29, 2010 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, with Pastor Randy Blankshean officiating. Burial will follow at Barrancas National Cemetery with full military honors. In lieu of flowers the Neiswonger family request that donations be made to Immanuel Lutheran Church (Blind Mission), 24 West Wright Street, Pensacola, FL 32501. HARPER-MORRIS MEMORIAL CHAPEL is in charge of arrangements.
