Robert Bruce Bodree, age 81, of Pensacola, went home to the Lord on Sunday, March 31, 2024. Robert was born in Norfolk, VA to the late Bernard and Helen Cobb Bodree, Sr. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by two brothers, Charles Bodree and Bernard Bodree, Jr; and a sister, Jeanette Bodree Englehard.

Robert was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother who was of the Catholic faith. He moved to the Pensacola area as a young boy. He attended Escambia High School, class of 1961. Robert worked at the Pensacola News Journal for 36 years. He coached little league baseball at Mrytle Grove Community Club and he also coached football at Little Flower Catholic School. Robert enjoyed the outdoors and spending time with his boys hunting and fishing. He really loved spending time with his grandchildren, and his sweet dog Izzy. He was loved deeply and will be missed by all who knew him.

Those left to cherish his memory include, his loving wife of 60 years, Rita Bodree; his three sons, Bruce Bodree (Beth), Robby Bodree and Brad Bodree; three grandchildren, Brent Bodree, Chandler (Abi) Bodree and Alexis Bryant (Jason); two sisters, Brenda Bodree Yohan and Pam Bodreaux; a brother, Arthur Bodree (Judy).

Visitation will be held from 11:00 AM until a Funeral Mass to begin at 11:30 AM on Saturday, April 6, 2024, at Little Flower Catholic Church, with Fr. Jack Campbell, serving as celebrant.  Active pallbearers will be as follows, Bruce Bodree, Robby Bodree, Brad Bodree, Brent Bodree, Chandler Bodree and Scott Barbaric; honorary pallbearers will be Rusty Simpson and Kyle Ruschel. A committal service will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Theresa Mission at Little Flower Catholic Church.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the Escambia County Paramedics and the Escambia County Sheriff's Department for their care and kindness. And, to Dr. Mark Ryan and his staff for the loving care shown to Robert.
