IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Robert John
Bromert
March 2, 1943 – March 10, 2024
Robert Bromert, 81, had an easy way of connecting with people. It was a defining trait. He was a devote Catholic who was an active member of St. Thomas More parish for over 50 years.
Bob, as his friends knew him, passed away on Sunday, March 10, 2024.
Like his father before him, Bob was a natural storyteller. The skill served him at all points of his life - as an Iowa schoolboy, a US Navy air traffic controller, a bartender, a greyhound racing steward, a high school teacher and physical education instructor.
Born in the railroad town of Carroll, Iowa, in 1943, Bob grew up on his family's farm with five sisters.
He is survived by his son, Zachary Bromert; daughter, Meghan Bromert; and his grandchildren, Andrew, Hannah, Kevin, and Charles.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth Jo Donohoe Bromert; his mother, Eulalia; and his father, Leonard Bromert.
