Robert DeHaven Coursen, Sr., 86, of Pensacola FL. passed away Saturday, November 9, 2019. He was born February 7, 1933 to Dorothy McGhee and Edwin W. Coursen; he was lifelong resident of Pensacola.
He was a hard working husband and father with two careers. He retired from the Pensacola Fire Department as a Captain with 29 years of service. He was also the owner/operator of Coursen Marine on Bayou Texar. His favorite pastimes were fishing in the Gulf and FSU football.
Bob is preceded in death by his wife, Leah; parents; siblings, William E. Coursen and Dorothy Jean Nabutovsky.
Survivors include three children, Cathy Huey (Dave), Robin Sorensen (Sean), Bobby Coursen (Cindy); grandchildren, Jordan Huey Garcia (Mike), Scott and Patrick Huey, Zach, Drew, Matt and Kevin Sorensen and Kelsea Coursen; sister in law, Virgene Coursen and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be 4:00 pm until the Memorial Service at 5:00 pm on Monday, November 18, 2019, at Harper Morris Memorial Chapel.
The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of Summer Vista and Emerald Coast Hospice for their compassionate care and support. A special thank you to Judy Hare for her care and kindness in these later years.
