IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Robert Clinton
Hill, Sr.
December 8, 1933 – April 18, 2022
Robert Clinton "Bob" Hill, 88, passed away Monday, April 18, 2022.
Bob was born in Logan County, WV, in 1933. He was an Army officer who retired in 1977 with 23 years of service. He served in many posts in the United States and in Vietnam in 1967-68. He boot-strapped while in the Army to get his bachelor's degree in Nebraska (UNO) and his master's degree in Technology in Georgia (Georgia Southern). After his retirement he began working Civil Service at Pensacola Naval Air Base and after 26 years, he retired for a second time. Not one to sit on his laurels, he worked at H&R Block part time during tax season for 8 years, finally really retiring in 2015.
Bob was an active member of First Baptist of Pensacola and the church choir singing bass for many years. He was a life-long faithful servant of the Lord, our great country, and his community volunteering his time and giving to charitable organizations.
Perhaps his greatest service was to his family – he gave us love, support, his laughter (dad jokes), a firm hand when we needed it, and the best dad his kids could ask for.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Deloris Karr Hill; son, Robert Clinton Hill, Jr.; daughter, Dianna Marie Hill; his parents, Wetzel and Georgia Hill; as well as his brother, Frederic Martin Hill.
Survivors include his son, Richard Martin Hill of Humble, TX; daughter, Deborah Lorraine Hill of Herndon, VA; son, Ronald Michael Hill of Pensacola, FL; sister, Janice Marie Hill Woods of Zionsville, PA; granddaughter, Amber Hill of Golden, CO and her husband, Eric Harms; as well as his grandson, Michael Hill of Alvin, TX.
Visitation will be held 5:00pm-7:00pm Thursday, April 21, 2022, at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel. Funeral Service will be held 9:30am Friday, April 22, 2022, at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel with Dr. Dave Snyder officiating. Private family interment will follow at Barrancas National Cemetery with full Army honors.
The family wishes to thank Brookdale Assisted Living for taking such great care of our dad. He made many friends and was happy while he lived there. We also wish to thank First Baptist Church Ministry for the love and support given to dad and our family.
