Robert "Bob" H. McCorkindale, II passed away peacefully at the age of 75 after a long battle with Alzheimer's and congestive heart failure on Sunday, September 15, 2024, in Pensacola, Fla.

Bob was born and raised in Florham Park, N.J., where he spent his childhood playing baseball, hockey, and bowling, often competing in local tournaments. He graduated from Hanover Park High School in 1967 and earned his bachelor's degree in hotel management and hospitality in 1971 from Paul Smith's College in upstate New York.

Bob began his career in hospitality as a manager at The Executive Club in Atlanta. He later moved to Pensacola, Fla., to take on the role of general manager at the Perdido Bay Country Club. Bob then moved to Athens, Ga., becoming an active member of the local community and supporting the University of Georgia. Later in life, he returned to the Pensacola area, where he founded and ran Fidelity Financial Group in Foley, Ala., for over 20 years. Bob also proudly owned and operated the Pink Pony Pub in Gulf Shores for several years. When he retired in Pensacola, he was an active member in the Whys Men and the Lunch Bunch at the First City Church of Pensacola.

Bob will be remembered for his warmth, kindness, and the impact he made in each of the communities where he lived.

He is survived by his daughter, Alison McCorkindale; his son and daughter-in-law, Rob and Tina McCorkindale; his beloved grandchildren, Ryder, Delia, and Anders; his sister, Carol McKenna; his cousin, Diane Pivarnik; and his wonderful nephews, nieces, and cousins. He is also survived by his ex-wife, Connie McCorkindale, and stepchildren, Jeb and Melanie. His ex-wife, Nancy Mauch, preceded him in death.

Bob's legacy lives on in the memories of those who loved him. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends. Donations can be made in his memory to First City Church, 1301 E. Gadsden St. Pensacola, Fla. and the Alzheimer's Association.
