Robert Timothy Merritt, 36, of Pensacola, FL died Friday, September 12, 2014. Robert was born in Pensacola, FL on December 4, 1977, the son of Charles D. Merritt and Elizabeth Rabon. He was born and brought up in Pensacola schools and graduated from Washington High School. Robert attended Pensacola Junior College and through the years was employed at Lemox Book Store, the Escambia County Tax Appraiser's Office and for several landscaping developers. Robert loved to fish in the Gulf and most recently in the Everglades for bass. Like his Father, cooking for a crowd was one of his great pleasures. His sense of humor and out-going personality endeared him to many. Robert leaves behind his father and mother; step-father, Rick Dunn; a brother Donald; his niece, Morgan and nephew, Jake; several aunts and uncles and special uncle, Leslie Merritt. Also mourning his loss is his step-grandmother, Helen (Woody) Fassett and another full family in CT. Preceding him in death are his grandparents, Juanita and Bill Merritt; Bob and Frances Rabon and his step-mother, Donna Fassett Merritt. Visitation will be held 10:00am until the Memorial Service to begin at 11:00am Friday, September 26, 2014 at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel with Rev. Roland Rabon.
