IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Robert J.
Noyes
July 18, 1931 – March 9, 2023
ACDS Robert J. Noyes, US Navy (Ret.), 91, passed away Thursday, March 9, 2023.
Bob was born July 18, 1931, in Green, KS. After a childhood of farming and working for a local mortician, Bob joined the Navy. He married Marylou Lange, the love of his life, and began a 22-year stint of maintaining naval aircraft engines. Hundreds of pilots had the safest, most reliable planes thanks to the efforts of Bob and his crews. Upon his retirement in 1972, Bob attended college and received a degree in refrigeration repair. However, missing the familiarity of the military environment, he began working for the Navy Exchange Service Centers, overseeing automotive maintenance and repair. In his free time, Bob enjoyed vegetable gardening, fishing, small-engine repair, lawn maintenance, cooking family dinners, and baking pies, as well as volunteering at Grace Lutheran Church where he was a member for 54 years. He was also an invaluable and constant mechanic for his extended family and friends as he repaired and maintained their autos and farm equipment.
Robert is preceded in death by his father, Wallace C. Noyes; mother, Alice (Siebold) Danielson; sisters, Ruby Weller and Nola Schroer; stepbrother, Larry Danielson; and his beloved wife of 59 years, Marylou (Lange) Noyes.
He is survived by his children, Terry (Michael) Weis, Tina Dunn, and Scott Noyes; grandchildren, Jeremy (Amanda) Dunn, Krystin (Brian) Johnson, Robert (Jaclyn) Weis, Elisabeth (Thomas III) Ward and Allison Weis; as well as greatly loved great-grandchildren, Gabriella and Griffin Dunn, Roan Johnson, Stella, Henry and Claire Weis, and Tommy and Hudson Ward.
Visitation will be held 10:30am until the funeral service to begin at 11:30am Thursday, March 16, 2023, at Grace Lutheran Church with Reverend's Bernhard Huesmann and Stephen Linck officiating. Interment will follow at Barrancas National Cemetery with full military honors.
Active pallbearers will be Jeremy Dunn, Robert Weis, Thomas Ward III, Dean Batten, Patrick Imhof, and Moises Rodriguez.
Honorary pallbearers will be Brian Johnson and Michael Imhof.
