Obituary

Robert "Bob" W. O'Brien, Jr. 69, of Pensacola, FL, passed away on Thursday, August 11, 2016.

Born: March 7, 1947

Mr. O'Brien was born in McGregor, Iowa. He Served in the Army Signal Corp during the Vietnam War and graduated from Southern Illinois University – Carbondale with a Bachelor of Science from the College of Communication and Fine Arts majoring in Radio/Television. He worked at TV stations in Duluth, MI; Peoria, IL; Springfield and Joplin, MO; and lastly at WEAR TV Pensacola where he was the weathercaster in the 1980's and early 90's. The past several years of his retirement was spent inventing and designing board games which he sold at Palafox Market and local art festivals.

He is preceded in death by parents, Robert and Zola (nee Welsh) O'Brien.

He is survived by his wife, Trudy K. (Hill) O'Brien; daughter, Kelli (Andre) Brady; son, Christopher (Scheri) O'Brien; grandchildren, Ashley, Jade, Brenden, Carson, and Avery; sister, Debbie (Jim) Clemens; brother, David (Pam) O'Brien; brothers-in-law, Tom Hill and Terry (Becky) Hill; father-in-law, Floyd Hill; niece and nephews, Ben, Becky, Tom, Adam, Alex, and Zoey.

A private family visitation was held at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel.

Donations may be made to Capstone Adaptive Learning and Therapy Centers, Humane Society, Hotel for Cats and Dogs, or your favorite charity.
