Robert "Bobby" Westbrook Omer, age 54, of Pensacola, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, July 15, 2024, following nearly three decades of living with a chronic illness. Bobby was born in Jacksonville, FL, on May 28, 1970, to Jack and Mary Frances Omer. He spent his younger days moving across the country with his father's military career and started calling Pensacola home in 1981.

Bobby was an avid surfer in his younger days and loved the beach and boating with his family. He had a laugh that was contagious, and he was always the life of any gathering. He loved to love and was a friend to all he met, especially stray dogs.

Following a stint in the United States Navy, Bobby worked in several trades. While he found satisfaction in work, Bobby viewed his greatest accomplishment in life and greatest love as his daughter, Amelia. Bobby was happiest when with her, bragging about her and watching her grow through her first year of college. She's what kept him going long after illness had taken over his body.

Bobby is preceded in death by his four grandparents. He's survived by his wife, Cynthia Omer; daughter, Amelia Omer; parents, Jack and Mary Frances Omer; brother, Jack Omer, Jr. (Julia); sister, Noelle Omer (Eric Loffland); nephew, Logan Omer; niece, Lauren Omer; as well as cousins he kept close to his heart and family and friends near and far.

A Funeral Mass will be held to celebrate Bobby's life at 11:00am Monday, July 22, 2024, at the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart, with Fr. James Valenzuela celebrant. Service will be followed by a repast at the church for friends and family.
