Robert Jackson Owens, Jr., of Pensacola, FL, died Tuesday, June 28, 2011, at his vacation home in Guntersville, AL. Mr. Owens was born in Forrest County, MS, November 29, 1947, to Robert Jackson Owens, Sr. and Jewell Boone Owens. He was married for 31 years to the former Carol Heber Stone. He served in the United States Navy from 1966 to 1996, retiring as a master chief. He was preceded in death by his father, stepfather, and mother. Robert is survived by his wife, Carol; his son, Robert Jackson Owens, III (Becky); two stepsons: Marc Stone of Pensacola, and Christopher Stone (Theresa) of Seattle, six grandchildren; and a brother, John Owens. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, July 15, at Barrancas National Cemetery, with full military honors.
