Ronald R. Messier, 67 of Pensacola died Monday, July 11, 2011. Mr. Messier was born in Central Falls, RI on September 21,1943. He graduated from Tolman High School, Pawtucket, RI class of 1962. He retired as a Planner and Estimator with the Civil Service, and most recently was employed by Lawn Master. Ron was a past member of the Lions Club, and was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 778. He was an active member of St. Paul Catholic Church for the past 38 years. His parents Rene J. and Doris M. Messier and brother Rene J. Messier, Jr. preceded him in death. Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Sharon M. Messier of Pensacola; daughter, Tami M. Prater (Lawrence) Gadsden, AL; son, Timothy P. Messier (Will) of Atlanta, GA; five grandsons Jacob, Elijah, Casey, Drew, and Christian; sister, Donna Fontaine of RI; and special friend Gertie Halstead. The family will receive friends from 10:30am, until the Memorial Mass at 11:30am July 15, 2011 at St. Paul Catholic Church. Fr. Doug Halsema will be the celebrant. A private family inurnment at Barrancas National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Alfred-Washburn Center, 31 Murphy Lane, Pensacola, FL 32505.
