IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Roy "Derek"
Mcgee
December 20, 1965 – February 8, 2018
Roy "Derek" McGee, 52, of Gulf Breeze, FL passed away Thursday, February 8, 2018.
Derek was born December 20, 1965 in Clanton, AL. He graduated from Escambia High School class of 1984 and from the University of Florida with a degree in Building Construction. Derek had a successful career in construction as owner and operator of SunChase Construction since 1991. In 2013, he opened Oak Ridge Gun Range in Gulf Breeze. He was an active member at St. Ann Catholic Church in Gulf Breeze. Derek was always willing to offer a helping hand in the community. He actively volunteered with organizations like the Washburn Center, Caring and Sharing of Santa Rosa, and Loaves and Fishes. However, the most important thing to Derek was spending time with and taking care of family. He truly enjoyed spending time in the woods with his friends and family at White Oak Creek. Derek's humble and giving personality will be missed by all who knew him. We now know that Derek is free and walking with his Lord and Savior.
Survivors include his loving wife of 28 years, Elizabeth; his sons, Roy "Tyler" (Caitie) and Preston "Kyle"; a daughter, Jacqueline; a grandson, Roy "Barrett"; his parents, Roy and Ruby; his sisters, Jeannie Harvey (John), Janice Lindsay (Al) and Julie Grebe (Joe); as well as many nieces and nephews.
