Ruth Walker Everman, 78, of Pensacola, FL passed away March 9, 2010 surrounded by family. Ruth was born and raised in Jackson, Mississippi but has spent most of her life living in Pensacola, Florida. She is preceded in death by her husband, Forrest G. Everman and son, Daniel L. Everman. She is survived by her son and daughter in law, John Everman and Jeanne Everman and daughter and son in law, Suzan (Suzi) Wheeler-Beck and Michael Beck, three grandchildren, Matthew Everman, Crystal Wheeler and Starla Wheeler, and many close relatives and friends. Ruth was a member of Heights Baptist Church. In past years she taught Sunday school, Vacation Bible School and a childs group called Sunbeams. She was also involved in her childrens activities through the years as a scout leader, PTA officer and band booster club officer. Ruth retired from Sears after working catalog sales and customer service. She assisted in the move from the old downtown location on Palafox St. to University Mall in the 70s and was on the front lines when the first computer systems were introduced into the catalog and retail sales areas. Her perseverance and self motivation was obvious and she was often called upon for training of new employees because of her patience and understanding. A visitation will be held on Sunday, March 14, 2010 at Harper Morris Memorial Chapel from 1:00pm until services begin 2:00pm with Rev. Paul Earley officiating. Interment will follow at Bayview Memorial Gardens. HARPER-MORRIS MEMORIAL CHAPEL is in charge of arrangements.
