Ruth J. Pekar, 100, of Pensacola FL, passed away at home Friday August 16, 2019.

Ruth was born November 9, 1918 in Beallsville, OH. She attended Ohio State University and later worked as a secretary for the railroad in Akron, OH. Ruth met her husband Frank Pekar in Ohio through mutual friends. Ruth and Frank retired in Pensacola, FL. She enjoyed golfing, playing bridge, and volunteer work at the Haven of Our Lady of Peace Nursing Home. Ruth was a kind woman who cared deeply for her family and friends.

Ruth is preceded in death by her husband, Frank M. Pekar; father, Albert E. Jeffers; first wife, Jessie Hoops; second wife, Ruby Earle; sisters, Wanda J. Pyers, Wilma J. Winkler, Selma J. Royer, Winifred J. Fergerson, Nada J. Larsen brothers, Jim Jeffers and Brother Bernard Jeffers.

Ruth is survived by son, Phillip Pekar and daughter, Patricia Minser; granddaughter, Tamara Hinchey and great grandchildren Caitlyn Hinchey and Conor Hinchey.

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 am Monday, August 26, 2019 at Nativity of Our Lord Catholic Church in Pensacola, FL with Father Michael J. Flynn, celebrant.
