Ruth Ann Broxton Smith, 73, died Sunday evening, October 13, 2024.

Ruth Ann was born and raised in the Pensacola/Gulf Breeze area. Ruth started her married life in Fort Walton Beach, FL raising two kids before moving to Raleigh, NC. She was retired from Duke Energy as a payroll analyst. Since her retirement, she would have time to garden and tend to her many flowers. Ruth enjoyed doing puzzles and relaxing by the water. She loved spending time with her grandchildren. She was a good friend to many, she especially enjoyed her talks with Bonnie and Elizabeth. In March of 2022, she was baptized as a Jehovah witness. She enjoyed spending time with her congregation.

She is preceded in death by her grandparents, Fred & Louise Hirt Schiesser and Charles & Ruth Ditto Gander Broxton; her parents, Joseph & Marie Broxton; as well as her son, Christopher Allen Smith.

She is survived by her brother, Randall Broxton; daughter, Jennifer Smith (Robert McKinney) and her four grandchildren, Marie, Olivia, Emma and Isabella McKinney. She is also survived by her son's girlfriend, Melody Mabus.

Visitation will be held 1:00pm until a Funeral Service begins 2:00pm Saturday, October 19, 2024, at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel. Interment will follow at Bayview Memorial Park.
