Ryan Connor Wood, age 18, of Pensacola, FL was lovingly received by our Lord, Sunday, March 24, 2019.

Connor was born on October 25, 2000. The first grandchild on both sides of the family, Connor has been a great source of joy from the time of his birth, throughout his life.

Connor, a senior at Gulf Breeze High School and a natural athlete, earned a position as a pitcher in the starting rotation of the Dolphins varsity baseball team. The great outdoors was Connor's playground. He loved watersports, fishing and hunting.

Connor will always be remembered by his family and friends for his beautiful smile, his competitive spirit, his playful personality, and his tender heart. He had an innate ability to make meaningful and lasting connections with people of all ages and has had a positive impact on many lives.

He is preceded in death by his great-grandparents, Buford and Aliene Shipman, Elloise Backster Shipman, Robert "RL" and Jessie Berry, Keith and Lucille Smith, and Sherman and Iris Wood; great-uncle, Jerry Griffis; and his cousins, Charles "Chuck" and Hunter Gardner.

Connor is survived by his parents, Michael Wood and Lee & Matt Barnhill; brother, Grady Michael; sisters, Lottie June and Clara Saige; grandparents, Tom and Roxie Wood, Michael and Jennifer Berry; aunts, Denise Berry and Amy (Paul) Strahan; and uncles, Jason Berry, Josh Barnhill and Shane Wood; and an abundance of great-aunts, great-uncles, cousins, adopted parents, and friends.

Connor recently professed his faith, accepting Jesus as his Savior. His family remains incredibly proud of his accomplishments and wants him to know he will always be cherished and deeply loved. Connor, you will forever remain in our hearts and on our minds. We patiently await the day we will be reunited with you.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held 4:00pm Friday, March 29, 2019 at Gulf Breeze United Methodist Church. Connor will be laid to rest in a private family committal service at Bayview Memorial Park.

The family would like to express their gratitude to the Pensacola and Gulf Breeze communities for embracing Connor and for the outpouring of love and support as we navigate this unspeakable loss.
