Sadie J. Weeks, 76, of Pensacola, FL passed away early Wednesday morning, December 20, 2017 at a Pensacola hospital. Born and raised in Atmore, AL, the former Sadie Juanita Steadham worked for a time at Chemstrand before marrying Bill Weeks and becoming a full time wife and mother. Not long after the birth of her second child Jill, Sadie suffered a brain aneurysm, a medical event that in those days, few survived. Sadie beat the odds and persevered, rearing two children and living an abundant life. Often the life of the party, (she was not shy about sharing a joke or an opinion!) her charisma and optimism captured the love of many. She and her husband Bill enjoyed their family, friends and traveling. Sadie was devoted to her church and exercised a strong faith in God. Despite numerous health challenges she endured with a cheerful smile, witty insight and entertaining observation. Resilience was one of her most remarkable traits, as time-and-time-again she impressed those around her with her ability to bounce back from adversity.

Sadie was preceded in death by her husband, William "Bill" Weeks; her parents, Clyde and Bertha Steadham and siblings, Gaston, Buford, James, Maxine, Eugene and Ralph.

She is survived by her son, Jeff Weeks (Sherri); daughter, Jill Maruschak (Steve); grandchildren, Geza Maruschak and Abigail Weeks of Pensacola and Michael Meadows of Fort Worth, TX; siblings, Frances Lassiter of Pensacola, John Steadham and Sharon Maddow of Atmore and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be at 10 am on Friday, December 22, 2017 at East Brent Baptist Church in Pensacola, with Funeral Service following at 11am with Dr. Dale Patterson officiating. Burial will take place at 2:30pm at Cluster Springs Baptist Church Cemetery in DeFuniak Springs, FL.
