Samantha Ann Rodzwicz, 30, of Pensacola, FL passed away Wednesday, August 20, 2014. Everyone who was touched by Samantha is acutely aware that there are no words to describe such an amazing daughter, sister and friend. She came into this world a sweet and shy little girl. Even then, she had a tough streak that made her stand up for the people she loved. As a young woman, she excelled at everything she put her mind to. She was a student at A.K. Suter, the PATS Center, Brown Barge, an National History Fair winner and a graduate of the International Baccalaureate Program. She attended Rhodes College as a freshman, and was a walk-on soccer player. During that year, she made friendships that would help lift her up in the events that followed. In 2003, following her accident, we watched as a strong woman emerged in spite of a devastating change in her path. She entered the Shepherd Center as a survivor and her corner room became a place of laughter, where patients and their families came to see her smile and hear her comforting words. When she returned to Pensacola, she quickly refocused on her education and graduated from Pensacola Junior College and The University of West Florida. She most recently received her Masters Degree in Strategic Communication and Leadership from The University of West Florida in May 2014. During this time of grief, we are comforted to know that Samantha's spirit lives on in all of those she touched. Visitation will be held 10:00am until the Funeral Service to begin at 11:00am Monday, August 25, 2014 at Cokesbury United Methodist Church, 9th Avenue Campus. Burial will follow at Bayview Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Bryant Fields, Josh Fields, Thomas Philpot, Dickie Heckler, Ben Clark and Bob Paulus. Honorary Pallbearers will be Wesley Bowden, Erin Tasman and Meghan Clark.
