Sandra L. Sandi DeFranco, 41, of Pensacola, FL passed away Monday, October 3, 2010. Sandi was born and raised in Pensacola, FL. She was the beloved firstborn daughter of Ronnie Mitchell and Brynda Mitchell Janashak. Sandi had many hobbies and interests that included going to church, FSU football, the beach, chronicling the life of her family through videos and photos and endless hours of volunteering for anything that brought her nearer to her twins during school and play. She had an extraordinary gift for entertaining which she exhibited daily on friends and family and all those she loved. She had a deep love and compassion for babies and children and dreamed of fostering the hurt and unloved children of the world. Loved ones gone before her include her paternal grandfather, James E. Jimbo Mitchell; maternal grandparents, Odell Orr and Katherine T. Orr; Dorothy and Blondy Smith; Mr. and Mrs. Fred DeFranco, Sr.; her uncle, Sam McDiarmid; aunt, Cindy McDiarmid; sister-in-law, Maria DeFranco Best and niece, Mallory Hall. Sandi leaves to cherish her memory, her husband of 22 years, Thomas G. Tom DeFranco, Sr.; her precious twins, Thomas, Jr. and Jordan DeFranco; her parents, Ronnie (Diana) Mitchell, Pensacola, FL, Brynda (Al) Janashak, Jacksonville, FL; 3 sisters, Darla Jane Janie (Rod) Stewart, Milton, FL, Rhonda (Allen) Mitchell-Felts, Milton, FL, Marcee Mitchell (DJ) McMurtrie, Tallahassee, FL; 3 stepbrothers, Terry (Medin) Powell, Ocean Springs, MS, Tony (Candy) Powell, Tallahassee, FL, Scott (Alison) Janashak of Jacksonville, FL; 3 sisters-in-law, Therese (Bob) Hall, Pensacola, FL, Mary Jane (Jimmy) Chason, Stafford, VA, Patricia Patsy (Nathan) Dickerson, Orlando, FL; brothers-in-law, Fred (Jessica) DeFranco, Jr., Pensacola, FL, Joe (Terri) DeFranco, Orlando, FL; her beloved grandmother, Mary Mitchell, Pensacola, FL; 26 nieces and nephews; her wonderful and devoted best friend, Debbie (Mark) Hinote, Pace, FL; as well as a host of family and friends. Visitation will be held 5-7pm Wednesday, October 6, 2010 at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel. Funeral Service will be held 10:00am Thursday, October 7, 2010 at Liberty Church, 2221 Blue Angel Pkwy., Pensacola, FL with Pastor Wayne Butts officiating. Burial will follow at Bayview Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Mark Hinote, Mac McCoy, Derek McDiarmid, Sam McDiarmid, Shawn Patroni, John Ramsey and Preston Ramsey. We would like to offer our heartfelt love and special thanks to: Pastor Wayne and Sue Butts, Pastor Josh and Kristen Lipscomb, Liberty Church, Toms rock and support Mr. and Mrs. Jeff Pastucha, Monsignor Reid of the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart and sister Elizabeth who mentored Sandi and loved her as her own, as well as all those sharing our grief and praying for us.
