In the early morning of Monday, September 16, 2024, Sara Elizabeth Preston Reeves was escorted into the arms of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, who she served faithfully all of her life.

Sara was born in McDonough, GA on April 4, 1935, but grew up in Zebulon, GA. She graduated from Griffin High School in Griffin, GA and attended North Georgia College in Dahlonega, GA, majoring in education. Her college education was cut short, however, when she married the love of her life, Cary Reeves, Jr. in 1954. They were happily married for over 67 years before his passing in 2022; she was a devoted wife. In 1957, the family moved to the Pensacola area, which became home.

Besides being passionate for Jesus, Sara was passionate for her family. She was a devoted mother to her 3 daughters, Karen Rodriguez (Terry), Midgie Schluter (JB), and Katie Reeves.  She was a doting grandmother to her 11 grandchildren and great grandmother to her 24 great grandchildren.

Loving the outdoors, Sara enjoyed gardening immensely. She loved plants and flowers. In the 1970's, she was part-owner and florist of Amy's Flowers and things in Gulf Breeze, FL.

While we grieve our loss on this earth, we rejoice in her Homecoming in Heaven. She has left a tremendous legacy in our lives.

The family would like to thank the staff at the Arbors in Gulf Breeze for their love and kindness and their tireless care of our beloved mother.

Visitation will be held 1:30pm until a Funeral Service begins at 2:00pm Wednesday, September 18, 2024, at Coastline Calvary Chapel in Gulf Breeze, FL with Pastor John Spencer officiating.  On Thursday, September 19, 2024, a funeral cortege will depart Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel at 10:30am for a Graveside Service at Barrancas National Cemetery.
