Sarah Marie Solley Boone, age 98, of Pensacola, FL, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, May 2, 2021. Sarah was born in Alexander City, AL to the late Elbert and Corrie Ray Solley and was raised in Sylacauga, AL. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Daniel "Dan" Carson Boone and three sisters, Corrine McClure, Helen Crutchfield and Elberta Waldrop.

Sarah was of the Catholic faith and was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend to many. She enjoyed talking with her family and friends, drinking coffee and smoking cigarettes. She worked as a secretary at Maxwell Air Force Base, Birmingham Water Works and Sacred Heart Hospital. Sarah found her calling when she began selling World Book Encyclopedias, having won numerous awards as a top seller. She found her second calling in life at the age of 67 when she opened Hickory Shores Child Care, she spent 12 wonderful years nurturing, loving and helping to raise many children in our community.

Sarah most of all loved her family and friends, everyone she met was a friend. She loved the "underdogs" in the community and always took in those who have strayed or were strays, feeding them, loving them and telling them about Jesus.

Sarah always said she didn't like dogs in the house, but she loved every dog we ever brought in. The last dog she had in the house was Louie, she would sneak him her leftovers. She enjoyed his company and would let him in and out of the house.

Those left to cherish her precious memory include, three daughters, Mary Avery (Lanny), Danise Fairchild (Jim), Barbara Salinas (Norm Sutter); thirteen grandchildren, Danielle Maulden, K.D. Maulden, Amy Durden (Andrew), April Brown (Justin), Carson Salinas, Kalyn Salines Ellis (Sean), Tripp Salinas III (Riley), Mary Grace Salinas Higdon (Zach), Katie Sutter, Jon Sutter, Chris Sutter, Joe Sutter, Will Sutter; seven great-grandchildren, Kylee Holt, Aly Salinas, Malachi Oliver Higdon, Arturo Salinas IV, Frankie Salinas, Tallulah and Forest Brown.

A Funeral Mass will be held for Sarah Marie Solley Boone at 11:00 AM on Friday, May 7, 2021 at St. Ann Catholic Church, 100 Daniel Drive, Gulf Breeze, with Fr. Tom Kennell, celebrant. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM prior to Mass.

An Entombment Service will follow at 1:30 PM Friday at Holy Cross Cemetery. For those wishing to attend the Entombment service, we ask that you meet at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel, 2276 Airport Blvd, Pensacola, at 1:00PM. We will line up at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel and be led to the cemetery in police procession together. Active Pallbearers will be as follows, Carson Salinas, Tripp Salinas, Andrew Durden, Justin Brown, Sean Ellis, Zachary Higdon, Chris Sutter and Jon Sutter.
