Obituary

Sarah Boylan Milstead, 96, of Pensacola, FL, passed away on Monday, December 8, 2025.

Sarah was born in her beloved Belfast, Northern Ireland to Edward and Sarah Ramsey Boylan. She was a hard worker from a very young age, as well as a second mother to her many younger brothers and sisters. She survived WWII as a child, hiding from Hitler's bombings in air raid shelters and cemetery crypts. She survived a year and a half in T.B. Hospital at the age of 17. She always looked forward and upwards in every situation. She moved to England in her early 20's to go to nursing school. It was there that she met her forever husband, Harry (USAF) and started a life with him in many different places. They had seven children between them which kept them very busy. Despite that Sarah always stayed engaged with volunteering at her children's schools, as well as in her Sacred Heart Church Parish. She also managed the Sacred Heart Hospitality Gift Store for many years and made it bright and cheery, especially for the littlest patients who would come down. She had unbound compassion for the lost, lonely, or homeless, and volunteered for many years at the Alfred-Washburn Center. We will miss her beautiful spirit and constant Irish wit that she spread wherever she went. Her loss leaves a void that will never be filled, but she was fond of saying "Always look up" so we always look up and see you in the arms of Jesus, whom you loved so much. Our mother loved to talk, so heaven must be very noisy with lots of laughter right now! We love you Mom, forever.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Sarah Boylan; husband, Harold H. Milstead; son, John Boylan Milstead and grandsons, Charles Prusa and Patrick Burns.

Sarah is survived by her son, Anthony Wood; daughter, Christina Milstead; son, Edward Milstead (Tang); daughter, Colleen Vaughan (Donny); daughter, Patricia Belliveau (David); daughter, Maria Geri (Mark); son, Terence Milstead (Eugenia); grandchildren, Andrew Milstead (Nasya), Sean Belliveau, William Coxwell, Ashley Eadie (Michael), Penn Vaughan, Amber Vaughan, Joseph Belliveau, Alyson Prusa, Emma Prusa, Ella Prusa (Jacob), Amelie and two great-grandchildren, Zeyla Milstead and Alora Eadie and little Sophia, due in May 2026.
