Sarah Hopkins Perkins, a devoted daughter, sister and friend passed away peacefully on December 16, 2024, at the age of 65. She faced her brief illness with the same confidence and grace with which she lived her life. Born March 22, 1959, in Pensacola, Sarah was the cherished daughter of E.W. and Jan Hopkins and beloved sister to Dinah and Kate.
Sarah graduated from Pensacola School of Liberal Arts and attended Judson College in Marion, Alabama. She was a shining light in the lives of those who knew her. She will be remembered for her sweet smile, compassion for others, generosity and dedication to her family. Her journey on Earth was marked by love, loyalty, and an unwavering faith in God.
Sarah grew up enjoying time on the family farm riding her pony, "Pepper". The annual family trip to the Tennessee Walking Horse Celebration was the highlight of every Fall for her. She later enjoyed riding and showing Tennessee Walking Horses. More recently, she was passionate about her toy poodle and favorite companion, Scout.
She is preceded in death by her sister, Dinah Hopkins Mencum and mother, Jan Richardson Hopkins.
She is survived by her father, Elbert Wesley Hopkins, sister Kate Hopkins Stradtman (Leighton) and an extended family who brought her great joy.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Christopher's Episcopal Church Ministry for O.J. Semmes School - Soles for Souls, 3200 N 12th Avenue, Pensacola, FL 32503.
A private graveside service will be held to honor her at Bayview Memorial Park.
