Shirley Mae Chaput, 92, of Gulf Breeze, FL passed away peacefully Thursday, May 23, 2019 at Bay Breeze Nursing Home, Gulf Breeze, FL.

She was born on March 2, 1927 to Eleanor and George Drnek. At 17, she married Carl Schenck and later Ronald Chaput, who have both preceded in death. She was a loving mother to Frank (Sandy), Charlotte, and George (Lucy). Shirley was a loving grandmother to her 7 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. She was also a loving sister to her brother, George, who preceded her in death. She was born and raised in Chicago. Later in life she fell in love with the Florida Keys and lived there for 16 years. Following that, she moved to Atlanta and then to Gulf Breeze to be near her family.

The family would like to express immense gratitude to the staff at Bay Breeze Nursing Home and Covenant Care for their wonderful care of Shirley.

A Celebration of Life Service is being planned for early July, detail will follow.
