Shirley H. Chisholm, 88, of Roanoke, VA, formerly of Pensacola, FL, passed away on Thursday, September 9, 2021.

Shirley is preceded in death by her husband and son, Marine Colonel Charles "Chuck" Chisholm and Brain Chisholm; as well as two brothers and a sister, Irwin B. Heinemann, Warren W. Heinemann, and Grace Henry.

She is survived by her sister, Carol Jackson, and many nieces and nephews located in Virginia, Tennessee, North Carolina, Texas, and Maryland.

Shirley was a flight attendant for Northwest Airlines, where she met the love of her life - Marine Colonel Charles Chisholm. She and Chuck faced the challenges of raising a child with special needs with grace and an abundance of patience and love. Shirley had a quick wit, always followed with abundant laughter.

Funeral Service will be held 12:00noon Friday, October 8, 2021 at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel, 2276 Airport Blvd, Pensacola, FL.

She will join her husband and son in burial at the Barrancas National Cemetery, Pensacola Naval Air Station.
