IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Sidney John
Toche
February 11, 1947 – March 19, 2025
Sidney John Toche, 78, of Pensacola, FL and native of Biloxi, MS passed away and went to his heavenly home, Wednesday, March 19, 2025.
Born February 11, 1947, he was the first of four living children born to Joseph A. Toche, Sr. and Aline Ryan Toche. His love for "all things boat" began at an early age. Since he could walk, he spent every opportunity he had and many summers working in his uncles, fathers and grandfather's shipyard when he wasn't on Active Duty in the Army National Guard. Sid's love of boats was so strong, it led him into a career of boat building, design and manufacturing where he remained active in this industry, until his recent passing. Throughout his career, he designed and built boats of all types and materials, many of which were prototypes in various industries. In 2022, he published a book titled, "The Last Boat Builder" which details the Toche family boat legacy in pictures and print. This book is displayed in the Maritime and Seafood Museum in Biloxi, his hometown.
He is preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Joseph A. "Bubba" Toche, Jr.
Sidney is survived by sisters, Sheila Toche Landry (Elwood) and Margaret Toche Parker (James-deceased); his children, Tiffany Toche Travis (Fred) and Justin Toche (Kim); grandchildren, Katelyn Toche Bundy (Jerry), Kameron Toche (Hannah), Daniel Travis and Elissa Travis; great-granddaughter, Annistyn Bundy; as well as three aunts, along with a host of many other nieces and nephews.
