Richard Herman "Skip" Weaver, 76, of Pensacola, FL passed away at home with family by his side on Sunday, July 6, 2025.
Skip was born on October 9, 1948, at Pensacola Naval Hospital to LCDR Ralph M. Weaver and Anna Christina Bartels Weaver. He graduated from Pensacola High School and was enrolled in Pensacola Junior College when he was called to service in the US Navy and was briefly in Vietnam. He married Shirley in August 1971 and went to work at the Naval Air Rework Facility. He retired after 25 years of Civil Service and promptly opened Southeastern Computer Center where he was still working although he would tell you he was retiring. He was very involved with the Boy Scouts of America for over 20 years as Den Leader, Scout Leaders and finally as a trainer for new leaders. He was President of Pine Forest Band Boosters for 2 years. Skip joined the Krewe of Lafitte in 1973 and had proudly been a member for 52 years.
He is preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Ralph Weaver, Sr. and Kenneth Weaver.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Shirley McCoy Weaver; two sons, Daniel Scott Weaver and Nathan Shawn Weaver; his sister, Sharon Caywood; nephews, Ralph "Bubba" Weaver and Kenneth Allen Weaver; as well as a niece, Theresa Blizzard.
Visitation will be held from 11:00am until a Funeral Service begins at 12:00noon Monday, July 14, 2025, at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel. Interment will follow at Barrancas National Cemetery with military honors.
Our family would like to express their gratitude to Vitas Hospice and especially to his nurse Courtney for her wonderful care given to Skip in his last week.
