Celebration of Life
Lost Key Golf Course
2:30 - 4:30 pm (Central time)
Stephen Anthony “Steve” Mogg, 82, of Pensacola, FL passed away on Tuesday, December 9, 2025.
Steve was born September 5, 1943, in Indianapolis, IN. He grew up in Coral Gables, FL but spent his summers on Lake Geneva, WI. His father was an avid sailor and belonged to The Lake Geneva Yacht Club, which afforded him the opportunity to race Inland Scow sailboats. Inland Scow racing was a popular sport on Lake Geneva, and Steve really enjoyed watching his Dad race. This is where his love for boating and being on the water began.
Steve graduated from Coral Gables Senior High in 1961 and went on to attend the University of Miami where he was a member of the Phi Delta Theta men’s fraternity. He graduated in 1965 from the University of Miami with a BBA. After he graduated, he enlisted in the US Coast Guard Reserves where he served for 8 years. Upon completion of his service with the USCG, he went on to join Xerox corporation in Miami, FL where he was hired as a sales manager. He was quite successful in sales and earned many awards including the coveted Top Gun award for outstanding performance in sales management. Eventually he relocated with Xerox to Pensacola, FL, where he became a regional sales manager. His total tenor with Xerox corporation was 28 years.
Steve had several passions that included deep sea fishing, playing golf, and tennis. Golf was probably his biggest love. In 1997, he joined the National Golf Association, which provided him with a wide opportunity to play on various golf courses and engage in a number of tournaments. He became quite good at the game and even received a few awards.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Millard E. Mogg and Juliana “Judy” Bauer Lapenta; and a sister, Barbara Ann Guignard.
Those left to cherish his memory include, his two daughters, Carey Hensley (Gabe) and Jeanette Blanks (Peter); his son, Chris Mogg (Cher); five granddaughters, Lauren Hensley, Jalen Hensley, Summer Mogg, Phoebe Blanks, and Ella Blanks; two grandsons, Blake Hensley and Caden Mogg; his sister, Cindy Karra; and brother-in-law, James Guignard; his former wife of 47 years, Lynne Godwin.
A Celebration of Life will be held from 2:30pm-4:30pm Sunday, April 26, 2026, at Lost Key Golf Course, 13681 Lost Key Blvd, Pensacola, FL 32507. (You will go to the guard at the gate, and they will direct you to the service/golf course.)
Stephens family would like to extend a special thank you to all their friends and extended family for their support, and to the home health nurses that took care of Steve throughout the years, thank you for the love and care shown to him.
